Clarify

Clarify helps you ensure that your source text is clear and unambiguous — just as a professional translator would. By identifying unclear wording, double meanings, or mistakes that make understanding difficult, Lia helps you produce translations that truly reflect your intended meaning.

Click Clarify / above your source text. Lia analyzes your content and displays the results in the right-hand drawer. You can collapse or expand the drawer at any time without losing your Clarify results.

Clarify focuses on issues that may affect translation accuracy. It doesn’t automatically improve your text — that’s what Enhanceis for.

Lia Translate already handles common typos or grammar slips gracefully; your translation will remain accurate even if the source isn’t perfect.

Clarify steps in when something prevents proper understanding — for example, ambiguous phrases, missing words, or sentences that don’t make sense.

Working with Clarify cards

If issues are found, Lia lists them as cards in the drawer. Click any card to highlight the corresponding part of your source text. You can review them one by one while reading your content.

There are two types of cards:

Ambiguity cards (red bar)

These indicate words or phrases that can have multiple meanings. Lia explains the issue and suggests alternative interpretations for you to choose from.

• Click the interpretation that matches your intent — the card turns green, and Lia instantly updates the translation.

• You can change or undo your choice anytime by clicking the same option again or selecting another one; the translation refreshes automatically.

• To dismiss a card without taking action, click Dismiss.

• To ignore the issue in any future Clarify checks within this translation, click Ignore.

These highlight other issues such as unclear, incomplete, or inconsistent text that might affect translation quality. Lia explains what could be improved and suggests an action.

• To correct the issue, edit your source text directly.

• To dismiss a card without taking action, click Dismiss.

• To ignore it in future Clarify actions for this translation, click Ignore.

Retained context

Once you’ve completed your clarifications, the resolved cards collapse and remain visible as part of your Clarify context at the top of the drawer. Lia remembers your confirmed choices within this translation — every retranslation automatically applies them.

If you trigger Clarify again later, only new or unresolved issues are shown. Ignored issues are not raised again. You can expand any previous card to adjust or undo your earlier decisions at any time.
