File translation
Overview
File translation lets you translate entire documents while keeping their original layout and formatting intact. Simply upload a file, choose your languages, and Lia will generate a ready-to-use translated version that looks just like the original.
Whether you’re working on a report, presentation, or spreadsheet, Lia handles your file quickly and securely, ensuring a fluent translation consistent with your preferred tone and context.
Upload a file
You start on the same screen used for text translation. To upload a document, either drag it anywhere into the left side of the screen or click Upload file.
Lia accepts common formats such as Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), Excel (.xlsx) and others.
After a successful upload — or any time before clicking Translate — you can select the source and target languages for your document. The target language is prefilled with your most recently used one.
You can also optionally adjust the tone of voice using Tone adaptation, and add CONTEXT before proceeding to translation.
Add context
To make Lia’s translation truly your own, you can attach context to your translation. Context adapts Lia’s output to your personal or corporate preferences — such as your writing style, terminology, and how previous translations were phrased. Think of it as briefing Lia before she starts translating.
This works for both text and file translations. Learn more in CONTEXT.
Translate your document
Click Translate to start the process. Lia begins translating your file immediately. For larger documents, this may take some time — but there’s no need to stay on the page. You can move elsewhere in Lia and return later to check progress.
When Lia finishes processing, the download symbol appears in the target section of the main view.
